A Recap of Last Night’s Action and a Preview of What’s Next
A Recap of Last Night’s Action and a Preview of What’s Next

What a night of ice hockey! Fans were treated to a thrilling evening that had everything—goals galore, dramatic twists, and even a little mayhem behind the glass.

Last night, the Coventry Blaze took on the Milton Keynes Lightning in what proved to be a gripping contest at the Coventry Skydome. Both teams battled fiercely, going into the third period locked in a draw. The Blaze, however, found another gear in the final frame, eventually pulling away for a 7-4 victory. Full credit is due to the Lightning, who matched Coventry stride for stride and showed immense heart throughout. Their relentless effort kept fans on edge until the very end.

Meanwhile, up in Scotland, the Glasgow Clan hosted Spartiates de Marseille in a match that will be remembered for more than just the on-ice action. Midway through the game, a massive hit behind the net shattered a pane of the boarding glass, forcing officials to halt play while the mess was cleared and repairs were made. Once the rink was safe, the teams got back to business. Spartiates de Marseille edged out Glasgow 3-1 in regulation, but the drama didn’t stop there. In a spirited shootout, Glasgow clawed their way back to a 4-3 win, demonstrating their resilience and ability to thrive under pressure.

Looking ahead, the weekend promises even more excitement. Tonight, the Belfast Giants face off against Ilves Tampere at 7pm in what should be an international showdown worth watching. Guildford Flames meet Amiens, and Dundee Stars take on Cordia in other hotly anticipated fixtures.

Saturday’s schedule is packed: the Glasgow Clan and Spartiates de Marseille rematch, with Glasgow hoping to turn the tables in regulation time. Nottingham Panthers travel to Manchester to test themselves against the Storm, while the Sheffield Steelers square up with Cardiff Devils to round off Saturday’s pre-season games.

Sunday’s action continues as the Nottingham Panthers welcome Amiens—one I’ll be attending in person, so look out for exclusive video content next week! Cardiff and Sheffield play the reverse fixture at the Vindico, and the Coventry Blaze return to the ice against Tilburg Trappers. If you’re looking for more hockey, be sure to pull up to that one.
