Overview.
Club History and Performance Statistics.

The Leeds Knights are an ice hockey club based in West Yorkshire, established in 2019. Originally known as the Leeds Chiefs, the team adopted their current name in 2021, marking a new era for ice hockey in the city. The Knights skate out of Planet Ice, Leeds, with head coach Ryan Aldridge at the helm, providing leadership and a steadying influence on the bench.

In their most recent campaign, the Knights claimed the league title, a testament to their consistency and competitive spirit throughout the season. However, their journey in the playoffs ended in the semi-finals, falling just short of lifting the ultimate postseason trophy. Despite this, the Knights have quickly established themselves as a force to be reckoned with in British ice hockey, building a passionate fanbase and a reputation for exciting, fast-paced play.

Individually, the Knights' roster showcased some remarkable performances over the course of the regular season. Star forward Kieran Brown was instrumental, featuring in 48 games and netting an astounding 53 goals, making him one of the league's most prolific scorers. Brown also led the team in total points, amassing a remarkable 102, a testament to his ability not only to find the back of the net but also to drive play and create opportunities for teammates. Matthew Bissonnette proved invaluable as the team's primary playmaker, collecting 67 assists across 54 regular season appearances, frequently providing the crucial final pass that set up many of the Knights' scoring opportunities. On the physical side, Jordan Buesa brought grit and determination, accumulating 112 penalty minutes in 50 games—a reflection of his tenacious approach and willingness to stand up for his teammates.
Between the pipes, goaltending duties were chiefly shared between Sam Gospel and Harrison Walker. Gospel anchored the defence with 44 appearances and an impressive save percentage of 92.17%, offering reliability and composure under pressure. Walker ably supported in net, playing 13 games and posting a strong 91.80% save percentage, further contributing to the Knights' defensive strength.

In the playoffs, the Knights saw several standout individual performances despite falling short of the ultimate prize. Forward Matthew Baron was a key offensive contributor, suiting up for all seven playoff games and finding the net nine times, spearheading the team’s scoring efforts when it mattered most. Matthew Bissonnette, building on his playmaking prowess from the regular season, once again proved indispensable—he tallied an impressive 14 assists in those seven games and ultimately led the team in total points during their playoff run with 19 points in total. On the physical side, Eli Endicott emerged as the team’s enforcer during the playoffs, accruing 15 penalty minutes in seven games, demonstrating determination and a willingness to compete at the postseason’s high intensity. These performances underscored the Knights’ depth and resilience, adding another chapter to their rapidly growing legacy in British ice hockey.

In goal during the playoffs, Sam Gospel carried the bulk of the workload, appearing in six of the Knights’ seven postseason contests and posting a solid 90.27% save percentage. Harrison Walker also saw action, tending net in one playoff game with a save percentage of 87.18%. Their collective efforts in the crease contributed to the Knights' competitive edge throughout the playoff campaign, reinforcing the team's reputation for depth and reliability across all positions.
