A BIT, ABOUT.

Here in the 'A BIT, ABOUT...' sections found across the site are there to give you, literally 'A BIT, ABOUT' the league section you have selected.

After the British National League folded at the end of the 2004–05 season, the Fife Flyers and Dundee Stars jumped over to the SNL, which really boosted the league’s reputation. Both teams have since moved on from the SNL and now play at the top level of UK ice hockey, the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL). When they made the switch, their spots in the SNL were taken over by the Dundee Comets and Kirkcaldy Kestrels.

Fast-forward to summer 2024, the Dundee Comets and Dundee Tigers put out a joint statement saying they were joining forces to bring back the famous Dundee Rockets. And what a comeback—the Rockets managed to win both the league and the cup in their first season back (2024/25), which is pretty impressive!

Looking ahead to the 2025/26 season, the SNL has even more excitement coming. There’s going to be a new team representing the Solway Sharks (from the NIHL) and the Whitley Warriors (from NIHL1, up in the North East of England) joining the league. Safe to say, the SNL is only getting bigger and better.
