NIHL Preseason Results from Last Weekends Action.

September 5th.
Romford Raider v Les Bisons de HC Neuilly-sur-Marne :
Les Bisons went 1-0 up after 01:52 on the clock scored by Rafphael Cacheux assisted by Lucas Besson and Romans Nekludovs.
Romford went on the raid searching for a goal when on the 03:23 mark Michael Power, brought to life the Raiders attacking presence. Assisted by Tjay Anderson.
A few minutes later on 07:39 Callum Burnett got himself a goal assisted by Brandon Ayliffe and Michael Power getting his second point of the night.
In the second period just over 5 and a half minutes into the period Romford struck the back of the net once more with a goal coming from Jarrett Baker, with the assists coming through Shaun Miller and Tjay Anderson.
Brandon Ayliffe bagged himself a goal to go along with his assist on 47:34 and Tjay Anderson getting yet another point on the point via an assist.
Just as you thought the Les Bisons were out for the count up popped Derek Raposo assisted by Markus Karkiakoski and Sebatstien Delemps with under 7 minutes left on the clock.
Any chances of a late comeback were soon cut loose as yes, that man again, Tjay Anderson who was on absolute fire got himself his fourth point in the game having played a part in 4 out the 5 goals on the night. This was made happen by his teammate Adam Laishram.
Basingstoke Bison v Swindon Wildcats:
Game ended 8-2 to Swindon.
Swindon started the scoring off With goals coming from Ben O’Connor on a powerplay goal assisted by Griffiths and Jones on 05:56 minute in the first.
Tyler Plews got the second for the wildcats on 18:38 assisted by jones getting his second point of the night and Vande Meerakker helping out with the second goal of the night.
Aaron Nell added to the scoreline assisted by Godfrey and Malasinski just under 2 minutes into the second.
Chris Jones got on the scoresheet at 31:28 assisted by Griffiths and Watkins.
Basingstoke Bison found the back of the net through Adam Harding on 34:46 assisted by teammates Relf and Spadafora.
Swindon went onto score another 4 goals before Basingstoke Bison answered back.
Tomasz Malasinski got a goal whilst shorthanded to add to his assist earlier on in the match. Tomasz was assisted by Wells on 20 seconds into the third.
From short handed goals to scoring on the powerplay this Swindon Wildcats team has been working on the special teams units. Tyler Watkins scored with 11 minutes to go, assisted by O’Connor and Billing on this occasion.
Aaron Nell Stepped up on 56:22 Van de Meerakker and O’Connor were providers once more supplying Nell to make it 7-1.
Ryan Wells fancied a goal to go along with his assist on the night to round of the Wildcats scoring. Plews and Griffiths once more stepping up as the playmakers on this occasion.
The Bison had one more in the tank as Alex Sampford grabbed a goal with under 2 minutes left of the game. Sampford was assisted by teammate Morris.
September 6th
Telford Tigers V Bristol Pitbulls:
Game ended 5-4 to Telford after overtime was needed to settle this.
The first goal came from Bristol Pitbulls on 10:14 mark with Cameron Hamill getting the goal and assists by captain Josh Batch and Mason Lipsey.
The Pitbulls grabbed another to extend their lead on 23:44, with Jake Bricknell scoring, helped up by John Dunbar and Bari Mckenzie.
After Bristol took a two nothing lead. Telford woke up and boy did they! James Smith scored on 26:42 assisted by Scott Mckenzie and Caelan McPhee.
Then we had a frantic 3 minute frenzy. Starting on 33:32 in the game Tate Shudra got another back to tie things up, assisted by yet again the dynamic duo of Scott Mckenzie and Caelan McPhee.
On 34:37 Tyler Somerton got on the scoresheet assisted by Davin Thompson and Eric Henderson to take the lead 3-2.
Playmaker now goal scorer Caelan McPhee got the fourth goal for Telford Tigers on 36:04 to round up the crazy 3 minute 3 goal pile on. Assisted by Joseph Aston and Kyle Ferguson.
Bristol had something to say about the quick turnaround when with under 6 minutes left in the third period the begun to claw back the goals with their third goal scored by Max Wigfield assisted by Rhys Smetham and captain Josh Batch getting his second point of the game.
Then the regulation time tying goal came on 57:17 minute mark with Cameron Hammil getting the equaliser helped out by Assistant captain Sean Morris.
In overtime Bristol had Owen Smetham serving a two minute tripping penalty on 3 minutes 17 seconds into overtime. 8 seconds later after the restart David Thomson capitalised on the man advantage and tucked away the winning goal, after a game filled with lots of action and goals!
Hull Seahawks v Leeds Knights:
Game ended 4-2 for Hull Seahawks.
Lee Bonner got the scoring underway on 07:16 on a shot handed goal, assisted by Hewitt.
Emil Svec joined the party on 09:45 on the powerplay, showing early signs that special teams have been putting in a shift in the offseason. Assisted by teammates Sobchak and Hewitt.
Ethan Hehir added a third in the first on 14:22 with Chilcot and Jones supplying the goods.
The Knights pulled one back in the second on 30:36 through Mac Howlett, assisted by Peyton.
That special teams proving to be decisive and capable of delivering the impact, required by them. As on the powerplay with 16 seconds left in the second Jordan Stallard got the fourth for the Seahawks whilst Hewitt collected his third assist of night completing a hattrick of assists during this preseason outing, Sobchak grabbed himself a second point on the night.
Leeds Knights managed to grab another goal with under 5 minutes when Innes Gallacher found the back of the net, assisted by Endicott and Vengis.
Swindon Wildcats v Basingstoke Bison:
Game ended 5-4 to Basingstoke Bison.
Brendan Sellan got the first goal for the bison on 04:05 assisted by Milton.
Joshua Shaw pulled one back for the Wildcats on 09:37 assisted by Wells.
William Stead regained the lead for Basingstoke on 21:37 assisted by Mogg and Shankar.
Swindon then went on a to score the next three goals and take a commanding lead into the final 8 minutes on the night.
Starting on 8 minutes into the second period Dylan Lipsey equalised for the wildcats assisted by O’Connor and Griffiths.
Glenn Billing then took the lead for the Wildcats on 47:12 with the man advantage whilst Bison were serving a penalty. Help came from O’Connor who gained his second point of the night.
Then up popped Edgars Bebris, assisted by Minter who would have thought they had both sealed the deal on the night for Swindon.
But Basingstoke didn’t hear no bell…..
The action started on 53:47 Zack Milton bagged himself a goal helped by Shankar and Mogg, linking up again once more. Whilst on the powerplay.
Stuart Mogg fancied a goal himself to level up the game on 54:24 on the Powerplay, his playmaking buddy Shankar being his resourceful self once more getting a hattrick of assist on the night.
The decisive blow was struck on 55:54 when Zack Milton got his second goal and third point of the night. Mogg got his third assist of the game a fourth point in a stellar comeback, stead got a point in the final goal. The fifth goal came whilst Swindon were serving a penalty.
Edinburgh Capitals v Sheffield Steeldogs:
Game ended 5-2 to Sheffield Steeldogs.
The Steeldogs had a cross border match up with Edinburgh Capitals and took the lead after Andras Kehl scored just 1 minute and 22 seconds into the game, assisted by Gedunov.
Joe Lynch levelled up for the Capitals assisted /by teammates Grigors and Smith on 06:17.
Edinburgh then took the league against the visitors through Kyle Howie, assisted by Cochrane this time on 12:03.
Sheffield weren’t finished though, they started the comeback on 24:36 Joonas Larinmaa getting on the scoresheet assisted by Kirk and Watson.
Bair Gedunov fancied a goal himself after providing for the first. He found the net on 28:31 assisted by the man he supplied for the first goal Andras Kehl.
Nathan Ripley got a goal on to make 4-2 on 52:13, no assist required, if you can believe or not…..
Bair Gedunov stepped up for his third point on the night, helped by teammates Smith and Watson on 54:55.
Milton Keynes Lightning v Romford Raiders:
Game ended 10 – 0 to MK Lightning.
Rio Grinell-Parke got the scoring underway on 03:19, no assist required on this occasion.
Josh Saunders got himself a goal on 04:07 assisted by Gabaj and Spadafore.
Elliot Lewis scored the third goal on 04:19 after Spadafore helped out with an assist for Lightning.
Harry Gulliver fresh from his preseason travels found the back of the net, assisted by Cownie and Korenchuk. Goal came 07:59 whilst on the powerplay.
Callum Field added a fifth in the first period on 16:03, assisted by Spadafore who got his third assist in the first period, and Lewis giving a hand to round up the dominant display put on by the Lightning in the first.
Illia Korenchuk got himself a goal and his second point. Assisted by Cownie who got his second assist on the night and also Milique Martelly providing an assist. Just the one goal in the period.
With 10 minutes to go in the game, Elliot Lewis scored assisted by Rutkis and Griffin.
Jordan Cownie popped up to get the eighth goal on the night, this time helped out by the man he supplied earlier on Korenchuk. On 53:17.
Jordan Spadafore fancied a goal to with his three assist on the night assisted by Milique Martelly for his second point of the night alongside Rio Grinnell-Parke getting his second point of the night with under 5 minutes left.
Dominik Gabaj felt left out all these playmakers now turning goal scorers were finding the back of the net so Gabaj bagged a goal assisted by GB star Sean Norris and Jokinen on 57:06.
One hell of a strong performance for MK Lightning and one Romford will take many lessons from.
Peterborough Phantoms v Les Bisons de HC Neuilly-sur-Marne :
Game ended 2-1 to Peterborough Phantoms in a shootout.
First goal of the game through Peterborough with just over 2 minutes to go in the first period with Cameron Hough finding the back of the net. Circenis and Ferrara were on hand with the assists.
Halfway through the second period Rafphael Cacheux equalised on 29:24. Assisted by teammates Nekludovs and Raposo.
The game went to overtime and no one managed to nick the winner in OT.
Shootout was the decider on this games occasion with Cameron Hough getting the game
winning penalty in the shootout. Adding to his goal in the first period.
September 7th.
Peterborough Phantoms v Les Bisons de HC Neuilly-sur-Marne :
Game ended 5-4 win to Les Bisons.
Nicholas Martin got scoring underway in Peterborough with just 03:39 assisted by Kynaston for his only point of the point of the game.
Pierra Chauvel levelled things up for the French side on 10:29 whilst on the powerplay assisted by teammate Nekludovs who had involvement in three goals as the night progressed.
Just 9 seconds later Ralf Circenis helped the phantoms regain the lead assisted by Ferrara and Robson.
Janne Laakkonen made it 3-1 to the Phantoms with a powerplay goal on 11:13. Assisted by Lawrence and Buglass.
Peterborough got their fourth and final goal of the game when Dillon Lawrence stepped up and got his second point of the night and this time in the form of a goal onn the 23 minute mark. Ferrara got his second assist of the night and Laakkonen got and assist and recorded his second point of the night.
Les Bisons were not done yet! Derek Raposo got a goal whilst on the powerplay at 25:45 with Nekludovs getting his second assist of the night.
Raposo got his second goal of the night towards the end of the second period, assisted this time by Mallet.
With under four minutes left in third, Pierra Chauvel who got the scoring underway for the French side levelled the game up at 4-4. Teammates Wendling and Breton on hand with the assists.
One minute and thirty-six seconds to go up pops Valentin Mallet taking control of the man advantage whilst on the powerplay with the game winning goal. Nekludovs got his third and hattrick of assists for the night with Baldris getting a point for his efforts in the goal.
Edinburgh Capitals v Sheffield Steeldogs:
Game ended 14-2 to Sheffield Steeldogs.
Well the first period was full of action with seven goals coming in the first! Joonas Lerinmaa got things underway just 4 minutes in. assisted by Gendunov and Watson.
Bair Gendunov then went onto record a first period hattrick to go with his first period assist. He netted on 6:40 assisted by Garcia. Then on 09:01 helped by first goal scorer Larinmaa.
Bair completed his hattrick on 15:29 with Watson picking up his second point of the night and Phillips lending a hand on this occasion.
Emil Oksanen went unassisted when he scored on 15:54.
Jonathan Phillips got a goal of his own, with under 3 minutes left of the first. Assisted by Sommer and Bjorkly-Nordstrom.
Walker Sommer then stepped up and found the net this net with repayment from Phillips swapping roles and Ripley getting in on the action at the end of the first.
With the first period put to bed. The capitals were first out the blocks with Joel Gautschi scoring after 40 seconds in the second, assisted by Lynch whilst on the powerplay.
Liam Steele extended the advantage for the Steeldogs assisted by Danecko and Ripley with his second assist of the game on a shorthanded goal half way through the second.
Walker Sommer grabbed a goal once more on 33:11 helped by Bjorkly-Norstrom and Phillips.
Connor McNulty ensured the Capitals got on the scoresheet again on 35:08 with a unassisted goal.
Bair Gendunov got his fourth goal of the game on 37:36 with Sommer and Garcia providers on this occasion. Nathan Ripley got in on the goal action no little than 30 seconds later assisted by Kehl and Doxey.
Walker Sommer completed his hattrick for the night on 38:48 with Bjorkly-Nordstrom also completing a hattrick of assists on the night, with Phillips getting his fifth point of the game.
Andras Kehl found the net on 42:56 assisted by Matthewman for his first point of the game.
Walker Sommer has the final say to get his fourth goal of the game on 48:49 with a shorthanded goal, assisted by Crowe.
Bristol Pitbulls v Telford Tigers:
Game ended 6-5 to Telford Tigers after overtime.
David Thomson got the scoring underway just after 3 minutes on the clock assisted by teammate Henderson on the shorthanded goal.
Bristol then answered through Calum McGill on 06:43 to tie the game up. Assisted by Batch and Harewood.
The Pitbulls took the lead on 09:!3 in the first with a goal from Jake Bricknell, Harewood providing another assist and McGill got his second point for the night.
David Thomson tied the game back at 2-2 halfway through the first with Ferguson and Henderson stepping up with the assists.
Jake Bricknell restored Bristol’s lead on 26:42 with a powerplay goal assisted by Batch.
Action wasn’t over for the second period just yet as Harry Ferguson deciding to get amongst the goals, with Fielder supplying the goal with under one minute left on the clock.
Caelan McPhee then got a 3 minutes into the third period, assisted by Newell.
John Dunbar got the fourth goal for Bristol Pitbulls on 47:46, this time Hamill with the assist.
Patrick Brown replied with a fifth goal for the Tigers with McPhee and Newell both recording their second points of the night with 5 minutes left of regulation time.
On 56:17 Rhys Smetham pulled it back to 5-5 assisted by Smetham and King.
Overtime was needed to end the one and up popped Tate Shudra with just 22 seconds left to go in overtime. With Ferguson and Newell Once more showcasing their playmaking abilities and recording both their third point of the night.
Leeds Knights v Hull Seahawks:
Game ended 3-2 Leeds knights after overtime.
The first period was scoreless. With the first goal of the game coming on 21:40 whilst Hull Seahawks had the man advantage Emil Svec scored assisted by Sobchak and Corneil.
Liam Peyton then equalised for Leeds on 35:24. Howlett and Cooper with the assists to get the Knights of the mark.
Liam Peyton grabbed another goal on 41:52 with Pakodzi getting a point for his efforts to give Leeds Knights 2-1 lead at the start of the third.
With just one minute and sixteen seconds left of regulation time Owen Sobchak provider now
goal scorer tied the game at 2-2 for the Seahawks to force the game into overtime. Hewitt getting an assist for the leveller on the powerplay once more.
Liam Peyton completed his hattrick in overtime just under just over three and half minutes into OT, for a 3-2 scoreline.
Romford Raiders v Milton Keynes Lightning:
Game ended 5-2 to MK Lightning.
Ewan Hill started the scoring of in this game on 08:38 with Anderson and Laishram assisted on the first goal of the game.
Jordan Cownie then Tied it up 1-1 assisted by Korenchuk on 18:17.
Cownie then in quick succession gave the Lightning the lead on 18:54. Gulliver and Forsberg with the assists for the second goal.
The Raiders levelled things up on a shorthanded goal through Tjay Anderson with 8 seconds to go in the first, for a unassisted goal.
Under a minute into the second and whilst on the powerplay Toms Rutkis regained the lead assisted by Knaggs.
Harry Gulliver then grabbed the fourth goal for and his second point for the night on 27:25 with Cownie and Forsberg adding to their points tally for the night.
The scoring was all wrapped up when Jordan Cownie claimed his hattrick on 50:39 with Rutkis supplying the goods on this occasion whilst MK had the Man advantage.
