Update on National Teams and the Road to Milano-Cortina 2026

Olympic Qualifiers 2023 and 2024

The Spanish national ice hockey teams have already competed in their respective Olympic Qualifiers in 2023 and 2024, showing significant progress on the international stage.

Men’s Team

The men’s team reached a historic milestone by advancing to the third round for the first time. Although they were unable to secure victory at this stage, they competed against top-level teams such as Japan, Hungary, and Lithuania, demonstrating great progress and competitive spirit.

Women’s Team

The women’s team, on the other hand, was unable to progress beyond their initial group after losing to Great Britain, the Netherlands, and Latvia. Despite the results, the experience gained in the tournament is considered valuable for the future development of women’s ice hockey in Spain.

Looking Ahead to Milano-Cortina 2026

The Royal Spanish Ice Sports Federation (RFEDH) is committed to providing comprehensive coverage of all events and relevant updates along the Olympic journey. These efforts and the sport’s growth are expected to bring together more than five Spanish ice hockey athletes for the Milano-Cortina 2026 Olympic Games.

Actualización sobre las Selecciones Nacionales y el camino hacia Milán-Cortina 2026

Clasificatorios Olímpicos 2023 y 2024

Las selecciones españolas de hockey sobre hielo ya han competido en sus respectivos Clasificatorios Olímpicos en 2023 y 2024, mostrando un progreso significativo en el panorama internacional.

Equipo Masculino

El equipo masculino alcanzó un hito histórico al avanzar a la tercera ronda por primera vez. Si bien no logró la victoria en esta fase, compitió contra equipos de primer nivel como Japón, Hungría y Lituania, demostrando un gran progreso y espíritu competitivo.

Equipo Femenino

El equipo femenino, por otro lado, no logró superar su grupo inicial tras perder contra Gran Bretaña, Países Bajos y Letonia. A pesar de los resultados, la experiencia adquirida en el torneo se considera valiosa para el futuro desarrollo del hockey sobre hielo femenino en España.
