Champions Hockey League Game Day 3 & 4: The Drama Unfolds

The Champions Hockey League returned with a bang as Game Days three and four delivered thrilling matchups and plenty of talking points for hockey fans across Europe.

 

The ice was electric with high-stakes competition, where every goal and save played a part in shaping early group standings.

 

Game Day three kicked off on 4th September with KalPa Kuopio making a strong statement at Olvi Areena by overpowering Storhamar Hamar 6–1. Brynäs IF continued the winning trend, besting KAC Klagenfurt 4–2 at Monitor ERP Arena in a game that was as intense as the score suggests. Meanwhile, Ilves Tampere edged out Red Bull Salzburg with a close 2–1 victory in Hakametsä, demonstrating resilience in front of their home crowd.

 

The action continued on the 5th September as EV Zug battled ERC Ingolstadt in OYM hall, but it was Ingolstadt who came out on top with a commanding 7–3 win, showcasing their offensive firepower.

 

 In one of the week’s highest-scoring games, Pinguins Bremerhaven and Grenoble squared off in Eisarena Bremerhaven, with Grenoble pulling off a dramatic 8–5 victory.

 

Game Day four brought more excitement from 6th September onwards. KalPa Kuopio kept their momentum alive, narrowly defeating Red Bull Salzburg 3–2 at Olvi Areena in a display of clinical finishing. Brynäs IF secured a well-earned 2–0 shutout against ZSC Lions Zurich, while Ilves Tampere thrilled their supporters with a confident 3–0 win over Storhamar Hamar, both matches putting defensive prowess in the spotlight.


On 7th September, fans witnessed EV Zug returning to winning ways, dispatching the Belfast Giants 6–3 at OYM hall in a game that saw end-to-end action throughout. The day wrapped up with a nail-biting encounter at Eisarena Bremerhaven, where Pinguins Bremerhaven went the distance against Lukko Rauma, ultimately prevailing 3–2 after a shootout.


As the dust settles after these eventful rounds, the competition is heating up and every point is valuable. The Champions Hockey League continues to offer high-octane entertainment and surprises, keeping fans on the edge of their seats.
