LETS TALK HOCKEY CUP 2025

SUNDAY 14TH SEPTEMBER 2025

MOTORPOINT ARENA, NOTTINGHAM, UK

Game 1 NOTTINGHAM OUTLAWS V KINGSTON FAT DADS:

Goal for the outlaws making it 1-0 with the goal coming from McLean. Getting the opening goal of the tournament

Outlaws make it 2-0 with Ollie getting the goal as cheers from the bench are heard, as the host team take a two goal advantage.

The Kingston Fat Dads Pull one back, number 98 with the goal for the reigning champions.

Number 10 for the Fat Dads receives 2 minutes for slashing as number 96 Artis gets two minutes for roughing as tensions boil with 4 minutes left on the clock.

Number 8 for Outlaws gets two minutes for roughing with 2:39 to go. Fat Dads looking for an equaliser but the Outlaws cant get them out the zone as the Fat Dads go on another powerplay, searching for the equaliser.

End of the game Outlaws won 2-1 after two quick early goals. Fat Dads piled on the pressure with in the second ten minutes. Good effort from both sides in game one of Lets Talk Hockey Cup 2025.

GAME 2 COVENTRY SPITFIRESV BRADFORD ICE WOLVES:

17:52 into the game and the spitfires in their black and green jerseys with a dominant display in the opening minutes. Still no goal as both sides like for the opener.

1-0 to Coventry Spitfires as they pile on the pressure against the Ice Wolves.

Number 20 for Bradford receives two minute penalty.

11:20 to go in the game and Coventry keeping the pressure on Bradford Ice Wolves, who continue to kill the penalty.

Back to full strength 5 on 5, with a good penalty kill by the Ice Wolves to keep the game at bay.

Good end to end action as both sides look for a goal as the game goes on.

Goal to the Coventry Spitfires.

Spitfires go on the 5 on 4 advantage as number 94 for the ice Wolves gets called for tripping.

Just over 6 minutes to go in game two.

4 on 4  as time ticks down. Number 68 for Coventry Spitfires receives two minutes for hooking.

Number 25 scores a penalty shot after being through on net and tripped on the play. Penalty shot is scored making it 3-0 to the Spitfires.

Great glove save with 2:38 left on the clock saved made by Evans between the pipes.

Game back to full strength for either sides.

Good show of dominance from the Coventry Spitfires in the game. Bradford Ice Wolves unlucky with their performance in the offensive zone, with a solid display in net by Evans for the Spitfires to keep a clean sheet.

GAME 3 KINGSTON FAT DADS V SHEFFIELD BLAZERS:

Game 3 of the tournament gets underway.

Number 24 Jurriga of Kingston Fat Dads unlucky with effort as he unselfishly opted for the passing option instead of taking the shot, a good attacking chance nonetheless.

Number 13 for Fat Dads serving penalty, Sheffield Blazers with the 5 on 4 advantage.

Sheffield putting pressure on and setting up nicely to grab a goal and make it 1-0 on the powerplay.

Sheffield Blazers on the powerplay again a number 22 serving time in the penalty box on this occasion. 

Great one timer by the captain for the Blazers, coming from intense pressure on the powerplay. Making it 2-0 to Sheffield Blazers.

Blazers grab a third with 14:53 on the clock, the puck finds it way into the back of the net.

Sheffield looking like they’re up for this. The reigning champions Fat Dads have already had one early game this morning.

Number 86 pulls one back for Kingston Fat Dads with 12:30 on the clock remaining.

Number 12 For Kingston unlucky with effort as shot goes just wide with 11 to go in the game.

Fat Dads turning up the ante in the last few minutes and searching for a way back into the game.

Both sides trying to create chances but nothing prevailing.

Good save from the Blazers goaltender Terry, as the shot takes a late deflection on the way through on net.

Puck cleared of the line by blazers as Fat Dads look for another goal.

Blazers netminder keeping them in this tie as time ticks on.

Three minutes to go and both sides cannot seem to capitalise in the offensive thirds, showing good defence display from both teams.

A few hits being laid out in the last minute as number 13 for Kingston Fat dads spending the remainder of the game in the penalty box unless Kingston concede whilst a man down.

Game 4 Nottingham outlaws v Coventry Spitfires

Game 4 gets started with the Outlaws facing off against the Spitfires.

Both sides with chances but unable to breakthrough.

Coventry on the attack.

Goal for the Coventry Spitfires, with 10 minutes gone in the game. Outlaws down 1-0 but still searching for a goal of their own as time ticks down.

Spitfires double their lead with just over 9 minutes left of the game.

Outlaws with a few chances on net with around 6  minutes left to go in the game.

Nottingham putting the pressure on in the offensive zone and pinning the Spitfires in.

Spitfire go on powerplay as number 28 for the Outlaws serves a 2 minutes tripping penalty.

Spitfires score quickly whilst on the man advantage to make it 3-0 in the game.

Shortly after Coventry grab a 4th goal scored by number 23 with under a minute to go.

The game ends 4-0 to Coventry Spitfires. The Nottingham Outlaws unlucky with their chances. A solid defensive display from Coventry.

Game 5 BRADFORD ICE WOLVES V SHEFFIELD BLAZERS:

Bradford with some chances early on, just a minute into the game with number 20 for the Ice Wolves through on net but unable to put away his effort.

Sheffield with a few chances of their own early on.

Number 12 for Bradford Ice wolves receiving two minutes for checking.

Number 23 picking up two minutes in the penalty box for slashing for some 4 on 4 hockey.

Sheffield goaltender putting on a good performance once more between the pipes.

Both sides back to full strength.

Goal scored by number 12 for the Ice Wolves.

Goal to level it up. A lovely backhand effort on the deke by number 23 for the Blazers with 10 minutes to go.

Both sides with good chances, end to end action as both teams looking for the go ahead goal.

Ice wolves on the powerplay as number 25 serves a penalty for interference.

Penalty killed by the Blazers just over a minute to go in the game.

Sheffield get the go ahead goal with around 20 seconds left on the clock.

The Blazers quickly add a third straight after face off. Goal was scored by number 10. Face off was won at centre ice and a quick breakaway in the offensive zone took place, the puck gets lost between the players skates but managed to get his shot away. Goaltender makes the save but number 10 is at the back post to tap it in.

 

GAME 6 KINGSTON FAT DADS V COVENTRY SPITFIRES:

Spitfires have started off well in the first minute, Fat Dads unable to the puck of their zone.

Kingston with a breakaway but the puck gets stuck behind the player before he enters the zone.

Great save off two chances as Fat Dads goaltender keeps the game at 1-0.

Coventry keeping the pressure on. Kingston Fat Dads breaking out the zone when they came but nothing coming form the chances created.

Good glove save by Fat Dads netminder with two saves in quick succession.

Still just the one goal lead in this matchup. As both teams are now onto multiple matches on this Sunday morning matchup.

Kingston Tie it up 1-1, Goal coming form number 96 assisted by teammate number 30.

Number 69 gets the go ahead goal in the game with under 8 minutes left in the match. Fat Dads really changing the tone of the game.

Spitfires still searching for an equaliser.

Spitfires tie it back up at 2-2 with the goal coming from number 33 assisted by 96 for Coventry.

Spitfires goaltender with two good saves after losing his stick momentarily.

Spitfires number 62 picks up a two minute penalty for hooking.

With just three minutes remaining Coventry grab a goal to take the lead, scored by number 24.

Coventry add a fourth to their tally.

Number 10 for Kingston Fat Dads picks up a two minute penalty with 30 seconds left in the game.

Game ends 4-2 to the Coventry Spitfires. A good fought battle from either side with lots of attacking skill on display.

 


GAME 7 BRADFORD ICE WOLVES V NOTTINGHAM OUTLAWS:

Puck drop gets its underway in game 7 of the Let Talk Hockey Cup 2025.

Nottingham Outlaws with a few chances early on in the match, with Bradford breaking down the play.

Ice wolves unable to make anything capitalise in the offensive third.

Game still tied at 0-0 with 12:30 remaining on the clock. Both sides with chances on net but nothing materialising from the efforts.

Outlaws with a breakaway effort saved by number 40 in net for the Ice Wolves.

Both sides looking for a goal but the goaltenders are making all the right decisions in between the pipes.

With five minutes to go we are still waiting for the opening goal in the match, showing a well matched up game.

Two minutes fifty seconds remaining and still no score.

Outlaws pushing for a goal.

Goal! The Outlaws find the back of the net and get the opening goal in the tightly fought contest between the Outlaws and the Ice Wolves. Goal was scored by number 15 and assisted by number 11.

Nottingham Outlaws get the win 1-0. A excellent display of hockey on display from both sides with a true sign of defensive and grit from both team defence.

 

GAME 8 COVENTRY SPITFIRES V SHEFFIELD BLAZERS:


Spitfires take the lead 1-0. Goal scored by number 33 and assisted by 22 and 88. Nice ringing sound off the pipes after the shot goes in off it.

Good attacking display from Coventry Spitfires early in the game.

Goal! Scored by Spitfires to make it 2-0.

Sheffield unable to make any chances count in the first 5 minutes.

Number 37 in net for Coventry with some good saves to keep them in the lead.

Nice slapshot Goal, coming from left hand face off zone scored by number 4 assisted by 23. The Blazers pull one back at 2-1.

Here we go, the game is tied up at 2-2, as Sheffield sense blood after pulling one back. Goal had come from number 75 after going five-hole to tie things up as the clock ticks on.

Number 75 receives a two minute penalty for slashing. Eight minutes to go in the final 10 minutes of this even match up.

Sheffield score to make it 3-2, with number 10 scoring the goal unassisted.

Over 10 minutes to go and Coventry searching for equaliser as they push forward on the attack.

Good poke check from Blazers goaltender as Spitfires have an effort on goal denied.

Number 10 receives two minutes for slashing as well as a broken stick to add to his recent penalty.

Just over a minute left to go in the game.

Spitfires looking to take advantage of the 5 on 4 and tie the game back up.

Puck leaves the zone for Sheffield with under a minute remaining.

Coventry now pinning the Blazers in their zone still seeking a goal.

Spitfires pull the goaltender to try take advantage but nothing comes of the it as the game ends 3-2 to Sheffield Blazers after a good comeback.

 

GAME 9 BRADFORD ICE WOLVES V KINGSTON FAT DADS:

Good save coming from goaltender for the Fat Dads number 30.

Fat dads with a few chances saved by number 40 for the Ice Wolves.

Four minutes played.

Fat Joe got people leaning back. Shoutout the DJ.

Long range effort for the ice wolves kept out by number 30 between the pipes.

Effort for Juriga number 24 for the Fat Dads goes wide.

Ice Wolves play out of their zone as Fat Dads pile on the pressure on the forecheck.

Scrappy play as players battle to keep it in Fat Dads offensive zone.

11 minutes to go.

Number 33 with a slapshot effort just wide.

Ice Wolves grab a goal, silky mitts by number 30 with shot saved and rebound effort tapped in at back post.

Score still 1-0 Ice Wolves with 8 minutes to go.

Good Glove save by Bradford goaltender with over 5 minutes to go.

Number 13 makes it 2-0.

Bradford with a good wrist shot goal on that occasion.

Fat Dads still looking for a goal.

Fat Dads number 33 serving two minute penalty for hooking.

Over a minute to go Bradford have Fat Dads pinned in their zone.

Bradford Ice Wolves win 2-0.

 

Game 10 Sheffield Blazers V Nottingham Outlaws:

Last game of group stages.

Shot by number 11 from Outlaws saved by number 29 in net for the Blazers.

Blazers with a chance, saved netminder for Outlaws.

Number 51 for Outlaws receives two minutes tripping penalty.

Good forecheck start of powerplay for outlaws whilst a player down.

Five minutes gone in game 10 of the tournament.

Still 0-0, 13:20 left, both sides eager to find the lead.

Effort by number 25 Blazers saved by outlaws netminder.

Long range wrist shot from Blazers number 75 saved.

Shot by number 11 Outlaws inside the zone saved by Blazers netminder with strong

blocker save.

Good effort by Number 96 Max Artis, Shot goes just wide of the left hand side of the top shelf.

Both sides getting fresh legs on the ice as we enter final six minutes of the last group stage game.

Number 95 Outlaws serving a kicking penalty.

Blazers take advantage of 5 on 4 with a goal scored by number 15 Outlaws looking for the equaliser with three minutes to go.

Number 23 for Blazers with nice handling on display as he puts the puck in between an outlaws player as he skates from in on goal.

Game still 1-0 to the Sheffield blazers.

Blazers number 25 serving a penalty in last minute.

Sheffield add another goal on the breakaway whilst a man down on the powerplay. Number 75 with the goal for Sheffield.

Game ends 2-0.

Semifinal 1

Sheffield Blazers v Bradford Ice Wolves:

 

First goal tucked away by number 10 for the Blazers, makes it 1-0 after a minute.

Shot by number 22 for Bradford saved by number 29 in goal.

Three minutes played.

Goaltender for Ice Wolves with good double save around 15:00 on the clock, Sheffield piling on the pressure but the Ice Wolves netminder keeping the game at reach for Bradford with 13 minutes to go.

Goal! 1-1, the game is tied up with and effort in front of the net, goal coming form number 20 assisted by number 17 for the Ice Wolves. Game on.

Blazers Keeping the Ice Wolves in their zone, but Bradford manage to get the put out and the blazer shave to regroup.

Both sides with chances with just over 5 minutes left to play in the first semifinal of the Lets Talk Hockey Cup 2025.

Number 20 for the Ice Wolves with another good effort, with number 29 in net for the Blazers with a comfortable save, adding to another strong display over the days games.

The Ice Wolves get the goal to take the lead with under 2 minutes left. Scored by number 81 assisted by teammates number 12 and number 84, sending the Bradford bench into scenes of jubilation.

Number 94 adds the cherry on top and makes it 3-1 for the Ice Wolves on the buzzer.

Game ends 3-1 to Bradford ice wolves. A great effort shown from Sheffield blazers who had just played in the final group stage whether that had anything to do with result is another thing, but it goes without saying how well played Bradford Ice Wolves dug in deep to pull out a great result against a strong Blazers side. Both sides performing well throughout the tournament.

 

Semifinal 2

Coventry Spitfires v Nottingham Outlaws:

Spitfires go on 5 on 4, just one minute thirty into the game.

Number 51 outlaws with a good effort with two and a half minutes played.

Number 28 Adams has effort saved by number 37 between the pipes for spitfires.

Five minutes gone both sides evenly matched it matched in this pair up.

Outlaws struggling to get puck out the zone.

Just as I say that the puck goes out of play on the 14:03. I take a leg stretch and retrieve the puck from block 16 and hand the puck to photographer Ben Gordon from Eye on the Puck, located between the benches for the semifinal encounter whilst the game goes on in the background, solid teamwork coming from the hockey media world on the day. Moving on…..

A wrist shot effort by number 92 form the outlaws saved by number 37.

Number 42 with some pirouettes good enough for the Torvill and Dean rink.

Goal scored by number 20 for the spitfires assisted by teammate number 25.

Good effort from the Outlaws resulting on a pile on.

Number 5 from the Spitfires serving 2 minute penalty for crosschecking.

Number 16 serving a penalty for interference as Outlaws player takes a tumble.

Outlaws pressing but spitfires get the puck out of the zone and outlaws have to regroup.

Just over four minutes to go in this second semifinal.

Outlaws looking for the goal to pull it back but no luck currently.

Last minute Outlaws still searching for that game tying goal.

The goaltender makes a dash for the bench as the Outlaws get the extra attacker out on the ice in the final minute of the game.

Coventry Spitfires win the 1-0. A well fought battle from either side in this second semifinal matchup of the Lets Talk Hockey Cup 2025.

Coventry with the only goal the game proving to be decisive early in the game. Nottingham Outlaws mounted their attack from puck drop but a solid display in net by the Spitfires netminder to stop any ounce of hope the Outlaws had of breaking down the wall that had seemingly sprung up in the crease. A good tournament outing from the Outlaws who had shown a lot of skill a depth during the day as it progressed and done their hometown proud. Coventry go on to the final and seek a trophy to take back to home, will this be the day?

Final

Coventry Spitfires v Bradford Ice Wolves:

 

Both sides creating chances in the opening three minutes with both goaltenders pulling of good saves in the first few minutes of the Lets Talk Hockey Cup Final 2025.

Chances being created once again but either side unable to capitalise on their efforts.

Good save by the number 37 in the net for Coventry, as Bradford set up a nice bit of play but unable to make it count.

Spitfires with the majority of the chances in the first seven minutes, a chance by number 88 just hits the post as the goaltender goes down to his left for a good pad deny.

Spitfires bring the puck out of the zone ending Bradford attack.

Number 20 for the Ice Wolves putting on another good display in this outing, with a chance on goal in this game but not finding the net on this occasion.

Game still tied with just over ten minutes to go.

Goal scored by Coventry Spitfires number 20 assisted by teammate number 25 for the opening goal in the final.

Good pad save by number 37 two in quick succession.

Spitfires digging deep in the last 10 of the game.

Long range shot from number 16 Coventry, denied by Ice Wolves goaltender.

Puck leaves the zone with 08:40 remaining in the final, with Bradford on the attack.

Mistake in defence around 06:30 left in the game with the Spitfires winning the puck but shot saved by number 40 in net for the Ice wolves.

Spitfires number 16 with a lovely top corner wrist shot goal, going past the goaltenders shoulder, goal was assisted by number 68. With just 5 minutes to go in the final Coventry have the lead 2-0.

Puck enters the bench with 4 minutes 20 to go.

Ice Wolves number 78 serving a tripping penalty.

Three minutes left in the final.

Spitfires really creating chances now.

Ice Wolves continue to get the puck out their zone and pin in the Spitfires with just over 2 minutes to go.

Fresh line changes as we enter the last two minutes of the Lets Talk Hockey Cup 2025 Final.

Back to full strength with one minute thirty remaining in the game.

Bradford up the pressure on the forecheck, searching for a goal to offer a glimmer of hope.

Bradford pull their goaltender with thirty seconds to go .

Spitfires number 68 gets a tripping penalty. 15 seconds remaining.

The game ends with Coventry spitfires winning the game 2-0.

Bradford Ice Wolves put on a good show of resilience, never backing down to their opponents on the day, showing a good bit of well-rounded strength in their squad to find goals when they’re needed and sticking as a team when having to dig deep in the late periods of the matches.

Coventry look a force from the get go on this wonderful day of hockey action. They showed depth in their line-up, with a strong attacking presence, not to mention a solid goaltender to keep things at bay when times got tricky in defence. After the game the players with their loved ones looked buzzing for one another as they had turned a rainy Sunday into a trophy celebrating day at the Motorpoint arena.
