2025/2026 SEASON TRANSFERS

A Fan’s Take on This Summer’s Moves

Ice hockey fans, what a whirlwind the 2025 EIHL off-season has been! If you blinked, you probably missed a blockbuster signing—or three. Let’s break down the biggest ins and outs from your favourite teams, and see which squads are looking hot and who’s rolling the dice this season.

Sheffield Steelers

Steelers fans, you’ve got some fresh faces to cheer for! Samuel Tremblay is hopping over from the Steeldogs, and the back end strengthens with Reece Kelly from the Clan and Jordon Southorn from Grenoble. Offence? Covered! Ryan Tait, Cliff Pu, Evan Jasper, and more are joining the mix. There’s a real shakeup in goal, too, with Eamon McAdam coming in from Guildford.

On the flip, we’re saying goodbye to some familiar names—like high-octane forward Maxim Golod, who’s off to UTE, and a few retirements (shout-out to Patrick Watling and Daniel Ciampini for all the moments!).

Nottingham Panthers

The Panthers are not messing around this year—fresh goalie Jere Huhtamaa arrives from Sheffield, with Finlay Ulrick, Chase Pearson, and Ross Armour adding depth up front. Bryan Lemos and David Noël are also in, along with solid D-man Jarod Hilderman.

But it’s a changing of the guard, too. Club legend Sam Herr hangs up his skates, and Logan Neilson is now Sheffield-bound. Plus, some tough farewells as several players head abroad or into retirement.

Manchester Storm

If you like new blood, Manchester’s your team—seriously, check those in-and-out lists! New goalie David Tendeck, plus Harrison Caines, Gary Haden, Brady Gilmour and more, will have fans learning a few new names. Kristoff Kontos from Cardiff Devils is a big get, and Ryan Bednard is another solid goalie add.

Lots of departures, too—Connor Lee, Grant Hebert, and the always-reliable Cameron Critchlow (enjoy retirement!), plus a few quick-fire transfers, like Alexis D’Aoust’s two-move saga.

Guildford Flames

The Flames have been busy, too. Defenders James Shearer, Zack Hoffman, Jamal Watson, and more are reinforcing the blue line, while the forwards get a boost with Cole Ully and Tyler Busch. Goalie Taz Burman joins the crew.

Some big names are moving on, though—Ryan Tait heads to Sheffield, Kyle Locke to Manchester Storm, and Sam Jones to Belfast. It’s a changing look for Guildford!

Glasgow Clan

There’s a major influx at the Clan: Cade Neilson, Brayden Burke, Hugo Roy, and goalie Sami Aittokallio are all set to make an impact. Brett Neumann and Jake Elmer are exciting signings up front.

Reece Kelly’s off to Sheffield, Matt Berry to Dundee, and Keaton Jameson to Fife. The biggest news? Brady Keeper retires shortly after signing. That’s ice hockey for you!

Fife Flyers

Fife’s been shopping! The Flyers have signed Charles-Antoine Paiement, Jonas Emmerdahl, Keaton Jameson, and more. Garet Hunt adds grit, and Christian Purboo is your new man in the crease.

On the way out: Ryan Foss, Martin Látal, and the promising Brodie Kay. So long, and thanks for the goals!

Dundee Stars

New faces in Dundee: Rowan Mills, Jackson Desouza, Griffin Luce, Morten Jürgens, and Nick Isaacson all join up. Matt Berry arrives from the Clan, with Ben Almquist and Brad Schoonbaert both coming in from Cardiff.

Ben O’Connor and Philippe Sanche head for new adventures elsewhere, and Jake Elmer is now a Clan man.

Coventry Blaze

Coventry’s always got moves up their sleeve! Brady Pouteau and Alfie Jefferis are two to watch, plus Matthew Gleason and Mack Stewart. Colton Saucerman, freshly arrived from Sheffield, will be patrolling the blue line.

The departures are solid too: Michael Regush and Chase Gresock to Rouen, and Nick Seitz over to Sheffield.

Cardiff Devils

The Devils have pulled in Brad Schoonbaert, Ben Almquist, Tyson Helgesen, and more. Youngsters and imports alike are suiting up—Cédric Lacroix, Nolan Yaremko, and Kristoff Kontos among them.

Waving goodbye to some big names, including Ben Almquist (who hops straight to Dundee), Taz Burman, and Brad Schoonbaert—who’s also off to Dundee. Busy times!

Belfast Giants

New signings galore: David Goodwin, Alexis Gravel, Brandon Whistle, Sam Jones, and others are all ready to don the teal. There are quality imports everywhere you look.

Departures: Pierre-Olivier Morin, Tom McCollum, and veteran Mark Cooper (retired) among a host of moves elsewhere.

Final Thoughts

So, who comes out on top? Hard to say until the puck drops, but with this much movement, the 2025 season is going to be unpredictable, fast, and seriously entertaining. Whether you’re excited about new signings or sad to see the old guard go, one thing’s for sure: the EIHL just keeps getting stronger!
