Vrbetic’s 52 saves lead the visitors to 3-2 win.
First Period
The Devils controlled play early but couldn’t beat Concordia’s Joe Vrbetic. Concordia took the lead at 15:32 when Alexandre Nadeau’s goal-line shot deflected off Bowns and in.
Second Period
Josh MacDonald tied the game at 29:43, assisted by Evan Mosey and Joey Martin. Shortly after, coach Paul Thompson swapped goaltenders, with Christian Stoever replacing Bowns. Concordia quickly answered, capitalising on a turnover and restoring their lead at 30:04 through Blake Richardson. The Devils outshot Concordia 17-5 but trailed 2-1.
Third Period
Concordia extended their lead to 3-1 just over a minute in, with Mathieu Bizier scoring on the powerplay. The Devils pressed, and Brett Perlini made it 3-2 with help from Ryan Barrow and Brandon Estes. Despite a late surge, Vrbetic’s stellar goaltending, with 52 saves on 54 shots, earned him Man of the Match and sealed the win for Concordia.
