Game 1: Germany Sets the Bar, GB Answers the Call

Germany wasted no time in showing their pedigree, racking up 10 goals in a blistering first period. But British heads didn’t drop. After the break, Team GB returned with renewed energy, and at 21:38, Oliver Leach (#24) gave the crowd something to cheer about, slotting home the British side’s first goal with an assist from Charlie Pike (#41). Though Germany added five more to their tally in the second period, GB’s young guns kept fighting. Oscar Pattenden (#33), set up by Captain Daniel Alabaster (#19), found the net in the final moments, capping off a match that was as much about lessons and resilience as it was about the scoreboard.

Sure, the Germans were a tough test, but Team GB flashed plenty of promise and determination. That unwavering spirit is a sign of exciting things to come in this tournament.

Game 2: Battling the Swiss Machine

Next up, Switzerland—famous for discipline and goal-scoring. The Swiss lived up to their billing, hitting 15 goals, split between seven in the first half and eight in the second. Still, Team GB made their presence known. At 23:03, Harrison Prentice (#10) powered through for a deserved goal, assisted by Isaac Stubbins (#8). Just over two minutes later, Oliver Leach (#24) struck again, notching his second of the day and bringing fresh energy to the squad.

Despite a 15–2 final score, the British bench stayed upbeat. Their fight didn’t go unnoticed, and the belief in their camp was clear: they were ready for the final clash of the day against hosts Austria.

Game 3: Austria vs. GB—A Late-Night Thriller

If fans wanted drama, the last fixture of the day delivered in spades. Austria grabbed an early lead, but the British “Lions” roared back with style and heart. Zack Beale (#6) opened GB’s account at 15:16, assisted by Harrison Prentice (#10), and then doubled up just 14 seconds later with the same partnership. Prentice added another at 16:44, marking a surge of British confidence.

The second half saw a flurry of goals. Prentice, Stoyanov (#98), Stubbins (#8), and Captain Alabaster (#19) all combined to keep GB in the hunt. Toryn Christy (#16) also joined the assist parade, and by 29:32, Prentice had levelled the match. With everything on the line, Austria managed a gut-wrenching winner with just five seconds to go—a heartbreaker, but one that can’t overshadow the British fightback.

Coach Scott Davies’ halftime pep talk clearly worked, inspiring a second-period roar from his side. Even though victory slipped away at the end, the performance was full of character, skill, and belief. There’s plenty to be proud of, and the best may be yet to come as this promising squad continues their European journey.

Stay tuned for more action, behind-the-scenes moments, and rising-star stories as Team GB aims for glory!
